From Leslie Jamison's The Empathy Exams to Claudia Rankine's Citizen to Sarah Gerard's Sunshine State, books of lyric essays have been winning tons of awards and readers the past few years, and why not? It's a form that embraces freedom, idiosyncrasy, and emotional honesty.

Caroline Cabrera is the author of the poetry collection Saint X, her previous collections include The Bicycle Year and Flood Bloom. She is founder and editor of Bloom Books, the chapbook imprint of Jellyfish Magazine. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Stetson University and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Massachusetts.

She has taught composition and creative writing at the University of Massachusetts, Florida Atlantic University and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Currently, Caroline teaches for Innovations for Learning and the O, Miami Sunroom Program.
