Repose: Restorative Poetry

  • Rina Yoga 2490 Coral Way Miami, FL 33145 (map)
A poem is a bridge between the language of the mind and the language of the soul.
— Liz Huntly

Surrender yourself to a conscious body and mind relaxation practice accented by heartfelt readings of a selection of poems from Rumi to Bukowski.

Supported by the use of props such as bolsters, pillows, blocks and blankets to eliminate any kind of physical exertion, Cuci Amador will lead a restorative yoga practice that will guide you through a peaceful and deeply-relaxed state to promote balance and an overall sense of well-being.

Details: If it's your first time at the Rina Yoga and you are a Miami resident, the class is free. Otherwise regular class rates apply.

Though the practice of Yoga Nidra and meditation, I have discovered that the mind and spirit is more receptive with the body is at rest.

Poetry readings can be distracting, sometimes someone is coughing or I can’t help but check out someone’s outfit. It can be hard to tune in and really listen. This class is a response to that. When the body is in repose, are we more receptive to the benefits of poetry?
