O, Miami is thrilled to partner with the Word Up! Poetry Initiative and the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network for SOul FLO.
SOul FLO is a FREE cultural experience featuring the best-of-the-best spoken word artists from Miami-Dade and Broward high schools. South Florida teens will have an opportunity to unveil their individual/group poetic talents. Come kick back and watch these talented youth rock the stage, while the DJ spins the beats. Complimentary light bites sponsored by Whole Foods North Miami and KIND Bars.
Darius Daughtry is an educator, spoken word artist, playwright, 88.5 FM radio host, and curator of the Voice Box at ArtServe. In addition, he is Director of the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network and Artistic/Educational Director for Louder Than A Bomb Florida, a spoken word festival with roots in Chicago that seeks to break down societal barriers.
Sady I. Diaz is the Public Engagement Manager for the City of Sunrise and develops high-impact programs, focusing on youth self-expression – including the City’s annual Word Up! Poetry Slam, bimonthly Lyrical Lounge open mic night, and “Poetry in Motion” writing series. Additionally, she is Co-Founder of Border of Lights (BOL) – an international human-rights collective that uses art and education as social justice tools.
