Join EPAC Harbor Master Steven Karl as he hosts a reading of poets published on small presses, featuring Alexis Orgera and Justin Petropoulos. Weather permitting, the pool will be open and basketball court will be open.
Alexis Orgera is the author of How Like Foreign Objects (H_ngm_n Books 2011), Dust Jacket (Braddock Prize Winner, Coconut Books 2013), and three chapbooks. Her poems and nonfiction have appeared, or will soon, in Another Chicago Magazine, Black Warrior Review, Drunken Boat, Forklift Ohio, Green Mountains Review, Gulf Coast, HTMLGiant, The Journal, jubilat, Memorious, Prairie Schooner, The Rumpus, and others.
Justin Petropoulos is the author of two collections of poetry, Eminent Domain (Marsh Hawk Press 2011), selected by Anne Waldman for the 2010 Marsh Hawk Press Poetry Prize and <legend> </legend> (Jaded Ibis Press 2013), a collaborative work with multimedia artist, Carla Gannis. His poems have appeared in American Letters & Commentary, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Columbia Poetry Review, Crab Creek Review, Gulf Coast, Mandorla, Portland Review, and Spinning Jenny. He received an MFA in creative writing from Indiana University. Justin is a contributing editor of digital/interactive and collaborative literature for Entropy magazine. He is currently the site director of an after school program for at-risk, elementary age children and is an adjunct faculty member at New Jersey City University, where he teaches composition and creative writing.
