In 2010, O, Miami started Jai-Alai magazine. Our idea was to publish ten issues, counting down from #10 to #1, that created a survey of Miami fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, coupled with exciting work by established, non-Miami writers.
In order to enforce the locality of unsolicited submissions, we commissioned two artist-designed and -made kiosks where locals could drop their work. One is at Books & Books Coral Gables and the other is at Sweat Records. You can still submit physically at these locations, but we've also added a new and simple, digital submission system.
Our hope is that by making submissions digital, we'll be able to increase the depth and breadth of the work we receive, while still keeping our focus on Miami writers.
The deadline for Issue #4 is February 15th. We invite you to log on and send us your most exciting work.
Sincerely, P. Scott Cunningham
